Learn To Dive: PADI Open Water Diver Course

What diving training do I need to be comfortable & safe while scuba diving underwater?

Your progression as a recreational scuba diver will follow the following 4 phases.

The Beginning of Time…

First… You need to acquire some basic knowledge about breathing and moving underwater - and acquire the related scuba diving skills. The basic entry-level scuba diving course (PADI Open Water Diver) introduces you to scuba diving during day time, in less than 60 feet / 18 meters of water, in relatively easy conditions. This PADI scuba diving course is offered, occasionally, during Summer time, at the Hampstead outdoor community pool. Otherwise, Total Diving offers the PADI Open Water Diver course in various indoor pools, all over the island of Montreal, every month!

Gain Comfort, Safety, and Pleasure

Next… You’ll want to gain comfort, feel more safe and have more fun! You’ll want to be able to dive up to 100 feet / 30 meters, days or nights, while mastering navigation skills - to find the boat at the end of the dive! It’s part of the PADI Advanced Open Water Diver course, offered around Montreal by Total Diving - Montreal Scuba.

Although you see the word “advanced” in the title of that course, it’s really part of your basic training before going on a dive trip. Talk to us about it!

To help you reach a good level of comfort, safety and enjoyment underwater, we’ve prepared the “Total Diver” training program including PADI and National Geographic courses. You can register into the Total Diver program after completing the theory and pool section of the PADI Open Water Diver course, in Hampstead or anywhere else.

Master Your Scuba Diving Skills

Then… You can work on mastering these scuba diving skills with various specialty courses like underwater photography, wreck diving, deep diving (up to 130 feet / 40 meters), with enriched air (nitrox) for less nitrogen absorption, in dry suit, etc.

To learn how to prevent many problems that can happen while scuba diving, and to help your buddy during a dive emergency, you’ll want the PADI Rescue Diver course.

All of these scuba diving training adventures are offered in Montreal by your PADI scuba diving school: Total Diving Montreal.
